Take a moment to look at the water use trends that Drew Beckwith with the City of Westminster put together. 

Highlights from the analysis:

1. Drinking water production was +15%, and reclaim production +52%, by comparison to 2023.
2. 50% of Westminster’s water was used outdoors in 2024, with the water needs of Kentucky bluegrass measuring at the 2^nd highest level since 1954.
3. A decade ago, average water use for a single-family home was 15,000 gallons in the hottest month, today it’s closer to 12,000.
4. During summer, nearly 40% of our customers never use more than 8,000 gallons of water – the switch to Tier 2 rates.
