Certification Exam
The RMWQAA Analyst Certification Exam is offered twice a year in the spring and fall.
Applications for Spring will be accepted from April 1st through May 1st of each year. The application deadline is May 1st.
Applications for Fall will be accepted from October 1st through November 1st. Fall application deadline is November 1st.
Three levels of certification are available:
The RMWQAA Certification Exam is a computer based test (CBT).
Exams will be taken at PSI testing centers. PSI will send each examinee an eligibility letter which will allow scheduling of the exam at a testing center.
PSI will send notification via the e-mail listed in your RMWQAA profile. Please make sure this information is updated.
There is a 90 day eligibility window to take the exam which includes one (1) retake option, after a 30 day waiting period.

The application and registration deadline is May 1st for Spring.
The application and registration deadline is November 1st for Fall.
4 Steps to apply for and take the RMWQAA Certification Exam:
BEFORE May 1st for Spring or November 1st for fall:
1) Register and pay the application fee ($20) on rmwqaa.org before the deadline.
2) Submit your application electronically to arucker@englewoodco.gov.
AFTER May 1st for Spring or November 1st for fall:
3) Receive eligibility letter from PSI. (Usually within a week of the closing date.)
4) Schedule and take the exam within the 90 day eligibility window. Exam fee ($87) paid directly to PSI when scheduling the exam.
The application deadline is November 1st for the Fall Exam and May 1st for the Spring exam.

Application Fee : $20 members, $50 non-members (includes a 1 year membership) plus website fees. Pay the application fee online through your registration, however an application still needs to be submitted.

Certification Renewal - Membership must be current
Once certified through RMWQAA you must renew your certificate every 5 years. The renewal cost is $10.
If you need to renew your certificate and you need another certificate sent to you, the cost is $20. Replacement certificates will be sent out electronically.

EXAM FAQ
1. What do I do if I have trouble scheduling my exam?
A:Verify you are attempting to schedule within the eligibility window stated on your eligibility letter. If you are within the window contact PSI at the contact number provided on the letter. If they are unable to assist you with scheduling, send an e-mail to arucker@englewoodco.gov with a description of the issue you are encountering.
2. I was unable to take the exam because when I arrived at the testing center it was closed or having technical difficulties. How can I reschedule?
A: Attempt to reschedule online. If you are not able to do so, send an e-mail to arucker@englewoodco.gov.
3. Can the eligibility window be extended?
A: No, the window for each testing round cannot be extended. If the exam is not taken within the window, the candidate must wait until the next testing cycle.
4. Has the Spring 2023 exam been extended?
A. Yes and no. The eligibility window cannot be extended once it is established. Spring 2023 candidates have been given an additional window due to the technical difficulties experienced at PSI testing centers. This is to allow candidates the opportunity to re-take the exam if necessary after the 30 day waiting period.
5. Have the issues experienced at PSI in June and July 2023 been resolved?
A. Yes, the issue with exams not loading in the system has been resolved. Candidates have been able to successfully take the exam as of July 20, 2023.
6. Do I have to maintain my membership to be a certified analyst?
A. Yes, you have to maintain a current membership to retain your certification.
7. I have passed the level 1 exam, can I take the level 2 in the same round?
A. No, you can only take one exam level for each round. The eligibility window is linked to the RMWQAA ID number and level of the exam the candidate is allowed to take.
8. If I retake the exam, do I have to pay the fee again?
A. You do not have to pay the RMWQAA Exam application fee if your exam is taken in the same round (Fall or Spring). You will be required to pay PSI the exam fee to retake the exam.
9. I have taken the exam and passed. When will I receive my certificate?
A. Certificates are issued at the end of the testing cycle. Certificates are sent to the e-mail address in the examinee's RMWQAA profile.
10. I no longer have access to the e-mail address I registered with to take the exam, will I be able to take the exam?
A. Yes, Enter your RMWQAA Member ID with the e-mail address on PSI's website. Once you log on to their system you will be able to update your e-mail address.
11. What is the exam format and how many questions are on the exam?
A. The exam is multiple choice. The number of questions is between 75-85, depending on the level being taken.
12. Some of the exam topics and analyses are not covered in the training materials (videos & presentations) listed on the RMWQAA Exam website. When will they be added?
A. The RMWQAA videos and presentations included on the website are not exhaustive. These materials are provided as an additional resource to the Reference List cited on the Exam Topics page. Additional materials will be added as they become available.
13. Is there a formula sheet provided for the exam?
A. Yes, a formula sheet containing common equations is provided by PSI for the exam.
14. Should I bring a calculator?
A. Some testing centers allow the examinee to bring a calculator and some do not. Any calculator you use has to be a non-programmable calculator. No cell phone calculators are allowed at any testing center. Please refer to the PSI Candidate Handbook (link above) for more information,
