Welcome to the RMWQAA Website!

Congratulations to the 2017 RMWQAA Analyst of the Year….
Debby Montoya!!

Debby has worked in the City and County of Broomfield Wastewater Laboratory as a Water Quality Technician since August 2008.  In early 2016, The wastewater laboratory started going through a huge transition period.  A new laboratory information management system (LIMS) was implemented, the City switched from Microsoft to Google, and planning started for a new lab.

In the summer of 2016, Debby had to step up and run the Lachat while a coworker was out of work for an extended amount of time.  She willingly took out her notes and the standard operating procedure and started analyzing samples.

She also had to learn the new LIMS, which she at first seemed to face with trepidation.  This was a new more complex system than its predecessor.  However, she attend the on-site trainings and worked with the Chemist to learn how to log-in samples and enter results.  She gained confidence and showed an eagerness to learn and embraced the new system.  She is now a pro at logging-in samples, results, and quality control results.

Debby also volunteers for Environmental Service events, such as household hazardous waste days and prescription drug take back days.

Debby is the perfect candidate for the RMWQAA Analyst of the Year.  She is a dynamo in the laboratory.  She comes into work and gets started immediately.  She always completes the analyses within the requested/required holding times and makes sure that the carboys and chain of custody forms are ready every day for the operators.  The City and County of Broomfield is lucky to have such a conscientious worker.

Congratulations Debby on a job well done!!
